proper/ideal injector choice

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

proper/ideal injector choice

Post by div4scpro »

taking a 98 V70XC LPT and doing a light/moderate build. changes include upgrading to a 15g w/ angled flange. adding a larger do88 drop in intercooler and IPD RIP kit. 0 stage tune to include full cyl job and PVC kit. other items that are still optional to include:
97 NA intake manifold
NA throttle body w/ 960 throttle plate
appropriate ARD tune, green or white?
97 NA cams
2000 V70R downpipe and full dual exhaust, like to add a 3" downpipe later if it would make a diff.

the goal is to take the original version and up the power overall, more important in the low to middle range, this will be a daily driver.

any constructive input or suggestions appreciated, and by the way any items not used will available.

questions: should I stick with the original injectors or what would be a better choice, types I have
pictured in the attachment
don't question the choice of components, already had all of them except for the tune
obviously.

forgot to mention that an R manifold is part of the build.

understand that there is some controversy about the advantage of going with the NA intake manifold and larger throttle body. I still have the turbo intake manifold znd throthle body if that lends itself to a better overall build.

thanks again for any input or ideas

Don't keep original orange injectors for this build. Go to blues or greens and have it tuned appropriately. Be sure to do a compression test and confirm that this is worth doing! The stock lpt internals can take more than a lot of people think. (Ask me how I know). R manifold makes a huge difference as well, good call there.

For a turbo rebuild I wonder if anyone has tried a VVIS NA manifold and matching VVIS head which has much larger intake ports and tried different opening apertures on the VVIS solenoid. That teamed with a larger turbo and injectors.......
