Hey all--
The blower motor on my V70 automatic climate control is working sporadically. When I turn the switch to high the motor starts strong and then starts slowing down to almost nothing. I pulled the motor and hardwired it to the battery and it spins freely and fast with no problems, leading me to the resistor and/or possibly the switch.
Any ideas what I should check next? Is the switch even a part that goes bad or is it all resistor?
Thanks for the help!
Eric
1998 V70 Blower Resistor Woes
I had similar problems with my AC and it was resolved with a new (used) blower motor and resistor. It was the blower that was no good, but the resistor was cheap so I did it. Got the motor on eBay for about $40 and replacing it took all of 30 minutes.
I hooked the old motor up to a jumper pack and it seemed to run fine, but I have had no issues with the AC since replacing it. Good luck.

That's exactly what I paid for both. Replacing it is very easy. Search around and there are some tutorials floating around. Basically, remove the glove box, remove the ABS bolster underneath and then you can see the blower and resistor. Hope it works out.
