If you don't need the car just get rid of it. The cat is at the age where things need attention, I mean a lot of things. People that do not turn wrenches themselves really complain about them being money pits.
If the car is not "bouncy" from worn struts, they will need to be upgraded to meet your liking. You would likely be looking at some Bilsteins or something like that, maybe spending about $1,100.
After that, if driven, the issues will start hitting you one after another. Has the timing belt been replaced?
