Looking to do a big bore NA intake and throttle body swap on my 855T.
Anyone know which MY's of the v70's had EGR and which didn't? I can't find info on our pal G, and it seems random as to what I find on eBay.
*Note, my car is Non-EGR
EGR/Non-EGR intake manifolds, v70's years?

I don't believe any V70 had EGR.

But all the NA v70's did?
I'm looking for an NA intake from a v70, or a 96+ 850 (I think) without EGR to swap in.

Even if you grab an N/A intake with an EGR attached, Volvo makes a part to plug it (#271778) it runs about $20 at the dealer. It includes a gasket and a plate with 2 bolts. If you use the N/A intake you also need to tap 2 additional ports. The one one the front of the intake for the PCV system and a 3rd one on the front for the fuel line. Take a look at the attached diagram. This is a turbo intake, the n/a intake will not have the port labeled #4.

Damn, so it would just be easier to bore out the throttle body inlet on my current manifold?

1996 was the last year with EGR.

I don't think so, I think you had the right idea since your car is not EGR. Just get a newer NA manifold, non-EGR, and you are good to go.futureboycolin wrote:Damn, so it would just be easier to bore out the throttle body inlet on my current manifold?

If I were you, I would just bore out your existing intake, pick up a n/a throttle body and a 960 plate. I'm not sure if it will improve performance on a turbo, I have read mixed reviews. I have the 960 plate on my 1994 n/a 850 5 speed and it did make a noticeable difference, especially under 3,000 rpm's. Go to the Snabb website if you need the components. They claim an increase of 10hp, but I would be skeptical since they sell the kit. Good luck.

I'm really just looking for a peppier throttle response in the 3k and under RPM range off the line.
So if I find a Non-EGR NA intake, will I still need to tap it for the vacuum lines?
Seems like 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of another. Either I have to drill for the vacuum ports, or bore for the throttle body...

Yes, you will still need to tap the 2 lines even if you get a non egr n/a intake. Sorry!!! Not that hard though. You can pick up a basic tap and die kit at Harbor Freight for $15 and since the intake is aluminum, it's a fairly soft metal.
