I am sending a friend who owes me is going to get a rear axle for me as I have a broken shock bolt and was going to do the delta and transverse links and figured it would be easier to rebuild the one then swap. I want to give him instructions as he can get confused, I see it as
Remove lower shock nuts x 2
Remove shocks & springs x 2
Undo huge bolt from delta ends x 2
undo bracket on delta ends 3 per side
cut brake lines
cut parking brake cable
rupture self when carrying axle to checkout
am I missing something really important here ? it seems to easy when I write it down
94 850 remove rear axle

Depending on how the pick-n-pull charges for stuff he may want to remove the brake rotor and the brake caliper. I know my lot would charge extra for them and he shouldn't need them. My yard would also likely charge me for the hub. If he does keep the brakes and the hub he might want to try to remove the brake line from the junction and take it whole since it is common for the flare nut on the caliper to get destroyed when removing it.
It really isn't an axle, it is a trailing arm and it isn't as heavy as you would imagine since it is hollow.

It's a coincidence, I had just done this one last week.
Rear suspension for FWD car, complete was $53.60, plus $6.00 core.
I could not believe what I read on their price chart the week I found an extremely low mileage '98 S70 N/A.
I had taken the Intake manifold for 3" turbo conversion for the T-5R, and the rear disks and pads which were zinc coated and looked almost new.
Long story short, I went back to get the whole rear suspension for the '93 Sedan which also makes it 5-lug as opposed to the 4-lug '93.
I cut the single metal brake line before the Y to the calipers. Kept the calipers attached. Unhooked the wheel sensors at their connectors above the fuel tank and kept them attached.
Disconnected the emergency cables at the handle and pulled them through the floor.
Un bolted the shock mounts from inside the car to leave the shocks as part of the "complete" rear suspension.
Un bolted the three mount bolts at each side. Put a used tire under each side, took out the large bolt through both bushings.
A subtle jerk with a pry bar at each end and done.
Once again, unbelievable. Less than $60.00.
I am going back for the struts and front hubs all in one piece to finish the 5-lug upgrade for the '93 Sedan.
Also, two Antila rims with Michelins that were frozen on the front rotors. $40.00 each.
It was a good picking day.
