What you do guys think? And girls.... that was rather sexist of me, now wasn't it?
I'm looking at an 04 C70 HTP Convertible Stick Shift, 90k ish miles, clean at $4750.... Am I gonna have to turn in my Guy Card if I buy this? Personally, I think it looks sleek and can anything with a stick really be a 'chick's car'?
Thoughts?
Just for fun... is the C70 a "chick car"?

My sister-in-law, 52 years old drives a white one of these as does her daughter. One's white, one's silver/grey. Both are sticks, both are nearly as "chick" car as a Vanilla civic. You would need to turn in your card and shave your legs.

The thing about convertibles is, their most vocal detractors have never owned one.
Drive around in a convertible for one summer and you won't care what people think of you. There are all kinds of practical drawbacks to convertibles, and not a single one of them matters to you when you're cruising with the top down.

See... that's what I was thinking! This will sort of a fun car and sort of a daily driver for me... the main thing I want is a stick shift, second is "better than a Subaru" power, and thirdly something that doesn't look like a civic or a Malibu. I think this car might be the ticket..... guy card be damned!

Most Volvo drivers are women. The fact that they are "first of all" rated as a safety car, women gravitate to them. If you see 10 Volvo's, 6 or 7 of them are driven by women.
I also think that 8 of 10 convertibles are driven by women.

In response to the "women drive Volvos" comment, which got me thinking: Maybe, yes, but maybe you see more women drivers overall, because you mostly drive around Albuquerque in the middle of the day (or whatever - i.e. you don't see all drivers at all times). Or maybe what you observe is true where you live, but what about in Portland, Oregon? The truth is, we are usually wrong in our generalizations about phenomena that involve large numbers where we see only a tiny sample size ourselves. It's better if someone just counts. Someone did:

Most common brand names for female owners: Kia, Suzuki, Mini, Subaru, Nissan, Hyundai, Honda, then finally we get to Volvo in 8th place and the split for Volvo is 42% female, 58% male. If you look at specific models, The only Volvo model that comes in greater than 50% female is the S40, at 52%.
Even that survey doesn't fully settle the question about "most Volvo drivers are women" but at least it provides some actual data.
To OP: if you are happy with a 2-door coupe, I say go for the C70!
