98 V70 GLT. Changed heater core still foggy

A slow leak won't cause your windshield to fog up. The system is designed to use the AC as the dehumidifier to keep the windows from fogging up. This is especially important in colder climate. So, start the car, turn the system on defrost, open the hood, look at the compressor to see if the clutch is engaged. If it is not, your windows will not defog unless the air going to it is very warm/hot. You may also want to make sure air is being directed to the windshield.

Not to sound slow.....but where is the compressor located and how can I tell if the clutch is engaged?
I'm getting air to the windshield. I'm going to clean the crap out of the windows tomorrow as I'll be in it anyway figuring out why I got misfires in all 5 cylinders today.

The A/C compressor has an electromagnetic clutch on it. So the compressor pulley always turns, but the compressor itself is only engaged when the AC is on. So you will see the innards spin when the AC is on, but only the pulley spins when it is off. I wonder if rspi made a video of this, it is a good topic for a video. The gap enlarges over time, on these pre-98 cars the gaps are pretty much all quite wide, often to big. You can fix it pretty easily with 3 zip ties.

RSPI has a video of a/c compressor shim. Maybe I'll take a look at that.
