Intermittent Loss of Power
I have a '94 850 turbo wagon with 190,000 miles. While driving along it suddenly lost power, just dropped into idle (no warning lights came on), and I had to quickly pull off the road and out of traffic. It did not respond to anything, so I shut off the engine and started it up after a few moments and it was fine. The next day it did the same thing again, but repeatedly--it was a very long ride home. My Volvo mechanic suggested it might be an O2 sensor. I couldn't get it in for service for a few days, so continued to drive it and during the next week it did not repeat the power loss so I wondered if it might have just been a bad tank of gas. Until today. when it did it again. Has anybody else experienced this? Is it likely the 02 sensor?

I have a 00' S80 T6. This has happend many times to me. Every time I take it in to the Dealer they want me to fix somethig else. The last time they told me it was the mass air flow sensor. I have heard from other people that it may havae something to do with the turbo lines. Im taking it in on monday, hopefully this time they can find out what is really wrong.

Went through this for almost a year on my 93-850. Got plenty of new parts along the way but the culprit all along was a cracked fuel pump relay. An $88 dollar part (U.S.) and roughly the same in labor.
