Noise stops when I turn the steering wheel

possibly from the power steering pump, usually it has the wrong fluid, flush and use the Pentosin or the Prestone synthetic for european cars

More info, when has it started, was it related to recent repairs, can you hear standing by engine bay, etc...

Thanks for response it has the pentosin fluid has not been flushed ever. No noise now it went away, the only I can say is it was colder here than normal (floriduh) I think it has to do with pump.

Change the fluid.

Replaced power steering pump and now i still have a squealing noise that is definitely related to the steering? The rack?

pentosin, I have 225,000 miles on the car. I was wondering if the noise could come from the steering rack?

I'd check everything else driven by aux.belt - load on it varies a bit when you turn steering wheel. Dry bearing make squealing sound.
