I have a 1998 S70 2.3 Auto T5. The alarm has started go off for no apparent reason. At first I thought someone was trying to steal the car. I have breen beside the car when the alarm sounded. We have had a cold snap here in Ireland, -4C. Any thoughts?

Hi pnolan,

I have same problem with my 10 year old 850 turbo.
At random the alarm siren starts yelling wheter I lock the car, unlock it, drive normally, set the service-mode (no alarm), disconnects the alarm unit. Nothing helps. I can disconnect the car battery and the alarm beeps like a small bird :-) However, difficult to drive around without a battery.
Driving with the battery and a very temperamentfull siren drives both me and my fellow drivers nuts.

My suggestion is to disconnect the alarm siren and drive to a garage.
If anyone knows where to dissconnect the siren without destroying it, please let us all know.

Wheater here is around zero and quite humid so it could be temperature/humid dependant.
