1998 V70 GLT Front crank seal keeps blowing out

I'm guessing this isn't the problem, but just in case, are you putting the seal in the correct way? Flat face pointing out.

I'm assuming this is a standard style lip seal.

Seriously?? I am guessing that you're intending to inject a bit of humor in the mix, right? Thanks for that. I could use a laugh or two because this is really flicking with my head. I have been owning and servicing my Volvo cars for about 30 years and have never before encountered an issue like this, although this is the first White Block turbo I-5 that I have owned. I like the Volvo design and engineering any other makes or models I have owned. This started to happen after I had a shop in Phoenix do a head gasket repair and since found various small parts missing when I started doing the tasks myself. It was all substandard work, much to my disappointment. Which I why I started doing my own service years ago. I only use the best quality parts I can buy.

I am happy to report that the front crank seal issue has been successfully resolved after the removal, cleaning and re-install of the oil pump with new seal, o-ring and gasket. The vehicle now performs magnificently as it is supposed to.
