Seriously?? I am guessing that you're intending to inject a bit of humor in the mix, right? Thanks for that. I could use a laugh or two because this is really flicking with my head. I have been owning and servicing my Volvo cars for about 30 years and have never before encountered an issue like this, although this is the first White Block turbo I-5 that I have owned. I like the Volvo design and engineering any other makes or models I have owned. This started to happen after I had a shop in Phoenix do a head gasket repair and since found various small parts missing when I started doing the tasks myself. It was all substandard work, much to my disappointment. Which I why I started doing my own service years ago. I only use the best quality parts I can buy.pappatho wrote:I'm guessing this isn't the problem, but just in case, are you putting the seal in the correct way? Flat face pointing out.
I'm assuming this is a standard style lip seal.

I am happy to report that the front crank seal issue has been successfully resolved after the removal, cleaning and re-install of the oil pump with new seal, o-ring and gasket. The vehicle now performs magnificently as it is supposed to.
