not sure what you have already taken apart but the radiator is secured by few bolts first is 2 on header panel then 2 long ones on each side of the radiator which unscrew from underneath then there is 4 bolts that secure radiator, intercooler, a/c condenser together best way is to take all of it off as an assembly but will have to drain your a/c refrigerant

I did this job on an 02 v70XC. I remembered that my radiator came out through the top. I think its easier to get the intercooler and radiator out together through bottom. If you are working by yourself then I'd say you need to sandwich the intercooler and radiator before putting them back on through the bottom. Not sure if you have to remove the front bumper but I did because I installed the external ATF cooler during that job.
Check your PCV system too. You would save time replacing it with this job.

It comes out the bottom. I just did mine and it was not easy. It hangs up on everything and then some more. Follow all the unhooks and then get an extra pair of hands in there to move the harnesses and hoses that find their way back to being in the way. The funny plastic mounting pieces get stuck on various hoses - if I recall the tranny lines and air cooler. Just get it all out of the way. It also has some tilt left then right or right and then left action as you lift it.

DO NOT TWIST THE NEW UNIT!!! This is the cause of premature failure. Put it in but do not force it.
