97 850 getting ready for spring/summer!

Post by dairyqueen814 »

Hello all
With the sudden surge of warm weather up here in New England I'm in spring cleaning mode. Oil change, summer tires, vacuuming, the works.
Ive got a few things I've been waiting on just it's been winter
1) I've got a CEL throwing a P1618 and even on my OBDII scanners advanced setting with specific car choices it doesn't tell me what's wrong. I'm wondering if ts related to my recent tranny swap.
2) I've got an extra fabric hoodliner from my donor car and I'm wondering if I could butcher it and use it on the firewall to improve sound deadening in the cabin or if it would be too close to the exhaust Mani and potentially melt/catch fire.

That's all for now
thanks
Nick

Inside of the firewall or outside? Is your car noisy? Can I come watch?

(1) That's a communication code between the transmission ECM and the main ECM. I don't have personal experience with it. Have you tried clearing it, does it come back? Also, can you check TCM codes with your scanner? It is likely simply telling you there is a TCM code.

(2) Fire.
