Gentlemen-
I am having intermittent #5 misfire and I have done EVERYTHING,(cap, rotor, plugs new plug wires, compression test) and have finally come to low fuel pressure, IPD says 43 lbs per in. at the Schrader Valve, yet Chilton says for a 1998 2.3 T5 is 58 lbs per in. What I really, really want to know is WHAT is the correct pressure?? I have a 2.3 T5 motor in a 1998 S70 with some minor upgrades and other than this problem the car flat RUNS.
Thanx, S70fanman

43 psi is the correct number for a '98. Actually it is 43 and a decimal since it is converted from a factory spec that is in BAR. The accuracy of most pressure gauges is suspect so a number that is in that general area is good enough.
A fuel pressure problem wouldn't limit itself to cylinder 5, it would be across the board.
