2000 V70 overheating problem

Post by Kfbtaz »

Hi all. My relay works, my fan works, new temp sensor and guage is only 1/2way up when its 114 out here in Vegas. Water boils out when stopped with or without ac on. I directly powered the fan to run when key is on. What have i missed? 2000 V70

It sounds like an overheating problem more than a fan problem. When did this start happening?

How old is the coolant surge tank cap? If unknown, replace it and see if it happens again. The cap is need to pressurized the coolant system, if the cap fails, the coolant WILL boil over.

Replace the coolant cap as mentioned above and see if problem continues.
