1998 S70... Will a C70 Hood Fit?

Post by ferocity02 »

I was the victim of a hit and run in a parking lot. A person backed into my car with enough force to bend the entire hood up. I'm thinking I could get a hood from a salvage place and replace it myself.

I found one locally in the right color, but its from a 2000 C70. Will this fit my 1998 S70? Looking at pictures of both, the hoods look very very similar.

Anyone know for sure?

See if that parking lot has a surveillance camera and see if that might help identify the perp.

I don't think so, the front end of a C70 is very different than an S or V70 but you would need to put them side by side to make sure.

I guess I answered my own question. I agree, the fronts look different, but if you focus on the hood they look the same.

According to this eBay listing the hoods are the same: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Hood-Front- ... 35&vxp=mtr

RockAuto also shows the hood part number VO1230107 fitting 98-00 S70 and 98-04 C70.

Regarding the incident itself, there was video that recorded it but the licence plate of the other car was not clear enough to read. And since the perp wasn't handed to them on a platter, the cops are basically useless.

You can use a C70 hood without any problems. Nearly everything else is different.

That would require the cops to exert some amount of effort.

I've always thought the front end and dash are the same in the C70 as the S/V70, otherwise they're different. They look different because the sides and rear are a lot curvier than the S/V70.

Different fenders, different front bumper, different foglights, some changes to the front structure, list goes on.
