1998 S70 loose wire under hood

Post by Tracee »

Recently when I reversed I heard a crack sound. Last night I checked under my hood on the front driver side found this dangling. I have no technical skills but wondered if it goes into metal frame hole (the blue one on the opposite side is placed in the metal frame). Or perhaps into the male end - see second picture. But the wire doesn't seem long enough to fit.

Thanks in advance.

That is the temp sensor for the outside temperature. Typically it plugs into a hole in the air guide (splash guard) but it doesn't hurt anything to just let it dangle. On some 70 series versions it plugs into a hole in the grill piece at the fog lights. It is not mission critical.

Lee, thank you! That is exactly what I did. Stuck it into a metal hole. Thank you and have a great holiday weekend.
