We have an active thread with someone trying to fix a C70 seat hardware. Can you post some pics of the springs and hardware under your driver seat, please?

Tires are definitely on the list! Car rode much better today, and I didn't hear the noise but will look into it tomorrow.

now she needs a wash badly...
hoping to get tie rods and alignment next week, then on to the next list. it seems like one list of parts leads into another with this car.

Also, I'll get some seat pics tomorrow too

What's going on with that door panel. I have some parts and pieces that might help you a little. That looks pretty rough. :D

That is the panel that was on the old beat up door. Decided to tear into it to see how feasible a budget upholstery job might be. Just for the arm rest. Looks doable honestly

Quick update, been busy driving to bother getting on here...

Got the inner and outer tie rods done. Was gonna pay a shop to do the work + alignment, but the first place I called said they wouldn't put the parts on for me and I was like wtf so I did it myself. Really wasn't that bad, even with the less-than-ideal tool I bought from autozone for $20 bucks. The good feature of this tool was that I could take the inners and outers off without separating them.

this image shows the driver side after getting the outer tie rod disconnected from the hub and after having pulled the old boot off the inner rod. The inner joint was so floppy, literally no resistance to movement, and the same for the outer joint.
Image

This image shows the assembly off with tool still attached. It has a 3/8" square so you can easily rotate the thing with an extension and ratchet.

Here we have the completed driver side showing new control arms, inner & outer tie rods (both Lemforder) and iPD HD sway bar end links.

Here's the passenger side during dissasembly. This side's boot was severely damaged. It was torn at nearly every "bellows" trough, and completely separated right above where the rack is exposed. There was a good deal of grit on the shaft behind the inner tie rod ball joint... Also, this side did not have a plastic-y collar thing like the other side. Is it supposed to? This side was also much more difficult to unthread because it was starting to seize on there. This makes me worry I may have damaged the seals of my rack... no noticable drop in power steering fluid though. Hopefully it'll last quite a while longer :/

below is a close-up of the inner tie rod once I finally got it removed. Notice the gunk :? you can also see the tool again here

Let me tell you though, I tried my best to keep the length of the new tie rods the same as the olds, but good golly it was out of whack when I drove it. Fortunately only had to drive it a few miles to the shop, cause it was baaaad.

The guys at the shop told me my front right camber was off enough to require adjustment, and that my struts had no way to adjust except by oblonging the bolt holes where it attaches to the hub. They charged an extra $50 for this work. Has anyone else ever had this done? Brand new tires and the alignment work, and she drives quite nice now.

Bonus pic of one of my new tailgate struts during install. I thought I'd be clever by putting some anti-squeal grease in the socket. I noticed when I got to the other side, there is already some grease down in there, although not much. Can't hurt right?

Nice. I'm officially buying my '98 V70 GLT today, so I can get started tearing that down to repair. Can't wait to get a closer look at the interior.

Looks like some fun time with the front end work. Mine could probably benefit from some of that stuff.
The 06 got the treatment this weekend. Hit the 120,000 mark, so a few things needed done.
@bmdubya1198.. Can offer a little help at times if you need it. Live in Salisbury, but work in Charlotte way to many days. Have a '98 parts car that has a few items still on it.
