I replaced the two hoses on the brick style oil cooler under my T5 - elapsed time 75 minutes
I Dremeled off the old hose clamps which were 'Jubilee type and pretty rusty. There is great satisfaction in hearing the 'ping' of the hose clamp releasing without busting knuckles. Elapsed time per hose clamp - 15 seconds.
Clean and wet the hoses before pushing them on firmly. Think about where the clamps go so you can easily get a socket on them (not a screwdriver) and get them nice and firm.
I replaced the factory heat wrap with muffler wrap to protect them from heat, and then zip tied them together just like Volvo did

Thanks from the Guru!
That's a good day...
I did end up using those manifold screws so thanks again.
Anyone who needs the heat wrap for this job PM me, I have about 28 extra feet left.

Strictly Volvo stuff for hoses, especially around turbo. It's brutal working back there.
I have the old OEM hoses and I'm amazed what good shape they are in. I will donate them to someone on a tight budget or a local driver
The oil cooler on the 2005 looks identical to my 1999, but I'm not sure the hoses are.
I'll post the part numbers to the thread, too.

I replaced the two rubber orings on the oil cooler today, and tightened the oil pan M6 bolts that are revealed with the oil cooler off
Four torx bolts hold on the cooler. You need a pick to get the orings out
I used part number 30637339
Your oil sump, has to empty to make this repair or you BP the driveway
Car up on ramps. Clean surfaces with brake cleaner

Probably can use regular silicone hose of similar diameter and use 12 gauge stainless wire to make a "spring" around it to make the bends... I believe they also make spring like assemblies that go within the hose's inner diameter for this purpose. All is not lost =)

I did these a couple years ago and IPD was the only vendor that had them. They still have them on their website, though they're listed as 3-day lead rather than in stock.
