Greetings again!
Great news - I managed to install the plastic spacer on the tensioner!! I can't believe how tight the timing belt is!

And...the o-ring that I pictured with a few other washers (back a page or two) does indeed go to the breather (PCV) unit that attaches to the large hose connected to the throttle.

The plug/connector in the picture above that has an accordion type hose just below the connector attaches to the IAC valve. The other three-prong plug/connector is to the TPS sensor.

Still not sure where that black vacuum line attaches, but it is the one that goes under the airbox and into the firewall. I have the two vacuum lines that go to the airbox ready to attach once I install the throttle body gasket (due on Friday!).

Yet to install is the exhaust manifold and associated parts!
Appreciate all your help :D

This sounds like the vacuum line to the cruise control pump, which is mounted under the battery tray.

I was just going to suggest that, and as a matter of fact, there is nipple under the battery tray without a vacuum line to it. I think we found the line a home!
Thanks, Erik!

Ok, the throttle body mounting gasket is on! Now to attach breather parts, tube to airbox, IAC valve, add some coolant and oil, attach the exhaust manifold and the associated parts, re-attach battery lines AND double check everything before starting the car!

Well, sorry about the delay in posting...I have had a bit of a setback...coolant is leaking at cylinder 4 from the head gasket, intake side. I am so totally bummed out. :( Any ideas on what would this suggest? Head bolts not tight enough, lower engine head in need of more sanding attention, a bad gasket? Appreciate your thoughts :)

Am now draining the engine of coolant.....

Aw that sucks. I feel your pain.
I've been watching this thread because I wanted to understand about the process of replacing a head gasket. It seems there are a lot of 1998-1999 cars for sale out there that have head gasket issues. I was wondering if I could get one inexpensively and replace. You are my proxy.

Best of luck. I'll keep rooting for you.
