Hi All,
Several months ago while I was working on my 2004 S60 2.5T AWD I accidentally cut one of the wires under the passenger side front seat. I reconnected the wire and the seat functions (heat/ power adjust) properly but I have an alert message: " SRS airbag service urgent"
1. Can anyone tell why this alert message appeared and how it will affect airbag deployment in the case of a collision
2. Can this message be cleared with a scan tool or by replacing or resetting a component(s) of the srs airbag system
The reason I'm looking for a solution to this problem is because I am trying to sell this car to help pay for the 08 xc90 I6 AWD I just purchased
Any advice would be greatly appreciatied

As long as you have positively identified the only wire you cut and repaired it properly you have little to be concerned with. If the wire has been repaired properly the code will not return once it's been cleared. Any interruption to communication with any of the safety modules will automatically trigger the SRS warning.
You will need to clear the code with a system that handles the SRS system of your vehicle. One of the surefire ways is a Autel EU-702 or if you are staying with Volvos in general a Vida/Dice setup however the Autel may not handle anything over 2008.
Or else visit the dealer.

can anyone recommend a VIDA/DICE unit and source that would be compatible with 2009 S60 for resetting the very message this thread began about. Volvo's wonderful interior fan recirculate after you walk away from the car killed my battery. I know this because I lost radio presets and clock setting at the same time.
Thanks
I don't care where the unit is made as long as you have had personal experience with one and know for sure it works and where to order one.
Thanks in advance for any help.
p.s. dealer wants 220.00 to reset so I'd rather spend that towards a tool I can use more than once.

eBay.
Search "Vida Dice".
They come from China and cost well less than the charge from the dealer to reset codes.
You'll need a laptop as well.
I'm waiting on mine to arrive.
Search this site and you'll find a wealth of information.
Cheers
