1999 v70 clutch pedal arm removal only Easy?

Post by voom8 »

Hi!

My clutch pedal arm, the metal swivel point or boss for the master cylinder plastic arm bore, snapped off inside. The clutch pedal arm looks like three bolts on the left to remove just it. Is there anything else I should be aware of? Can I just remove the clutch pedal arm?

My plan is to take the arm out, knock the rest of the boss out and then get the boss spot welded on.
Or perhaps JB weld it in place.

When these are manufactured, it looks like this boss is pressed in, and then on the left side, they mushroom the metal over. Without a relief for temperature expansion, looks like mine fatigued after ~ 16 years

Looks like in order to remove the Clutch pedal arm... I have to remove the whole assembly; The nut is on the gas pedal end... and the bolt cannot slide out from the pedal cluster brackets...

Has anyone here removed the pedal cluster of a 1999 V70? Can you tell me of any concerns in doing so?
