S70 starting. And dying in 5 seconds

Post by raykan »

Sorry guys, i am. really in difficult position and cannot search the forum first but i will search when i wait a response.

The car is starting, and in couple of seconds it dies again. Pressing the gas pedal doesn't change anything.
Any idea?

I was sitting in the car, it was running. All the sudden it died. I run it again, press the gas, it responded however it diedagain after i stop pressing the gas pedal.
After this time it s starting but stopping in a second. Like it doesnt get enough gas.

If you search forum, you will see that people recommend only BOSCH MAF.
About $150 or so.
For now, unplug the MAF until you get the new one.

When replacing the MAF, watch for that BIG O-ring seal.

IF this is a turbo car, and you have an induction leak in the tubing between the MAF and the TB, your MAF could be fine. Look for leaks, loose clamps, splits in the tubing.

Some of these can only be found be removing the induction pipe and inspecting out of the car.

That makes sense. I will check for the leak. I think i have to consider to change the o2 sensor since the engine light was popping up because of it for awhile.

Thank u every body for their time.

Change the MAF if you can't find any induction leaks, clear codes, drive for a bit. All of those codes can be caused by a bad MAF, it's not uncommon to get a bunch of codes when the car isn't running right
