1998 s70 replacing brake lines, need some advice!

Thanks! turned into a nightmare, half my fault, half just the hassle of doing these brake jobs and then ordering parts/tools in, waiting days for them to arrive but now I'm prepared if I have to tackle any brake jobs again!

I haven't had a chance to take car for a proper spin but brakes feel OK, but i've noticed there is a "hiss" noise that matches the movement of the pedal...before I freak out as google has given me load of issues to be concerned with, is that normal after car has been sat for a month and lines disconnected? or shall I bleed the brakes again.

Never had this noise before the car was taken off the road.

Hopefully its nothing major as i was pumping the brakes at idle (with engine on) and hiss when pressing the pedal but when moving the car and pressing the pedal to stop (there is no hissing) and pedal is firm, I guess I won't know if there is an issue until I use the car for a few days but I'll think positive and hope its nothing serious!

Check the brake booster vacuum hose.

Thats what I didn't want to hear after doing some research but strange I'm hearing this noise after doing work on the brakes, anyhow, I will have a look as the brakes feel as normal when stopping, just a slight hiss when idle and pumping brakes (which I only done to check the pedal after bleeding brakes).

Ok I think I know what the problem is, as the brake pedal does feel mushy and while its easy to stop, there is too much travel, which never happened before and I only get the hiss due to the pedal travelling.

I thought I could get away with just bleeding the rear caliper (the one I replaced) but I'm going to have to bleed all corners.

Not looking forward this as the caliper I removed had a bleed nipple which had been destroyed by a previous garage and I just know the others aren't going to come off easy!

I suggest use a deep 6 point socket to brake loose the bleeder screws.

the brand new caliper bleeder should be good..

In general, I

Wire brush the joint of the bleeder and caliper
Apply ppb blaster over 3 days or more
6 point deep socket or flare wrench.

It is possible, but messy, to bleed a caliper with a frozen or broken bleed screw by loosening the hose. Caliper has to come off to do this though
