I have a 1996, 850, and the radio will not come on until the interior
of the car has warmed up. any suggestion would be great. I'm trying to avoid the dealer.
Irritating Radio 1996 850
First thing you need to do is remove the radio and inspect the connections.. sounds like something is loose or could be damaged.
Before you remove it make sure you have the reset code.. call your dealer if you dont have it written down somewhere. You need this if you ever remove the radio or lose your battery power.
The radio slides out easily enough.. just pull out the little ear tabs on the bottom of each side of the unit... and pull out.
If this is the simple cassette system and its not working..you can usually purchase one for less than $40 used. Ensure you get the code for that one too.
