1996 850 Damper Motor Calibration

Hi,

I recently purchased some used damper motors since mine went bad. Since I do not want to go to the dealer, after installing the temperature damper motors, what do I need to do in terms of calibration? Is there some special program that needs to be run at a repair shop?

You can force it to calibrate if you want to build a DTC flash code reader but it should do it by itself if you drive it over 20 MPH for a few minutes and then leave the key on for over two minutes after you stop.

An alternative is to align the rotary position of 'new' damper to the same angle as the old damper... I've done this a couple of times and it seems to work fine.

I don't have an 850 or any paperwork on one, but I seem to recall there was a damper calibration process, but perhaps it was only on the 93-95(?) that had the test system under the hood.
