Can this year engine be converted to the newer style oil filter with the housing and insert instead of the metal can?

If you change the oil pan.

Why? Metal can filter is usually cheaper.

My wife has a newer V70 that uses the inserts and it would be nice to share the same filters. But for that amount of work i'll just stick with the metal filters. :)
