2013 C30 - Fuel pump or regulator replacement

Post by pixie7684 »

I purchased my 2013 C30 new in December 2013. The car mainly resides in Phoenix, Arizona. The battery needed to be replaced approximately 6 months ago. They couldn't diagnose the issue back then despite running diagnostics so they chalked it up to it being a bad battery so it was replaced. They being my local Volvo service department. It was running fine until this past weekend.

I just spoke to the service tech and was told that either the fuel pump or the regulator needs to be replaced. Of course, it started up just fine this morning despite clunking out immediately for the past 3.

Does it seem typical that a fuel pump and/or regulator would need to be replaced on a car that's less than 3 years old, with less than 35K miles?

I love my car so much that I joined this forum! :)
