I recently got a set of Nivomats at the boneyard that were in good shape, meaning not leaking. Boots had just started to tear. By using V-blocks in a press I was able to immobilize the rams. The lower mount was then able to be unscrewed from the ram. Threads were normal righty tighty lefty loosely. The replacement boot P/N is 1387105.
Is'nt it great that there is another wonderful maintenance item we can do on our cars!!!
nivomat maintenance - boot replacement

Great to know this can be done. I have left Nivomats at PnP in the past as the boots were torn. They actually were operational, but not willing to pay for bad boots.
I remember blockpartie saying something about the 200 series Volvo used this boot. Now just need to find a great set of v blocks like you have up here in Canada.
Great info from you as normal, so thanks!
Neil.

Just to update this older thread, the boots are hard to come by now, Dealerships are either NLA or are saying 3-6 week backorder. One dealer said they think the boots are headed for 'retired' status. Skanix lists them in Germany, but shipping minimum is 125eu.
I've found a listing for some KYB boots, when the Nivos' Neil sent arrive I'll see if this is a workaround.

In the UK we use motorbike fork gaitors if we cant find OE. That being said, whilst P80 ones are discontinued, 7/9X0 ones are still available here and do fit.

The part number shown in this thread is for the 2/7/9 series cars.
You folks over yonder may have better luck with shipping from Germany - unless that whole trade thing has consequences - and availability in you dealer nets may be better than ours.
As mentioned, when the replacements arrive I'll look into a workaround.
