Took the car to a car wash and I'm not sure what happened, but I started getting an SRS warning on the dash. Read the code with VIDA and it comes up as SRS-0095 Passenger seat belt buckle. Current outside the permitted range.
I tried clearing the code, but it is persistent. If I plug the seat belt in, I am able to clear the code and it stays gone, until the seat belt is unlatched.
VIDA suggests that it's either the seat belt latch, wiring, or control module. I already thoroughly inspected the wiring under the seat (by unbolting the seat and looking underneath it). Do seat belt latches actually go bad, or am I having a control module issue?
