What I can't remember is if seal # 3 in the diagram can be replaced without removing the crown nut? The o-ring can't be replaced without doing so but I can't remember. The OP's problem sounds like it's with the driveshaft seal which can be popped out with a long flathead as mentioned above or the green o-ring which is installed inside the sleeve if I remember.

Thanks for all of help. I got it taken care of. Now, I just have to reinstall it.
