The CV Boot is easy to find but the CV Joint itself is close to impossible.
Ebay UK or ebay Germany websites list something nice, but I can't verify the mfg.

On the other hand, one can find VW, Mercedes CV Joint by GKN-Lobro w/o issues. They are at rmeuropean.com, ebay etc.

I suspect this is a sinister move by Volvo, who told GKN-Lobro not to make the CV Joint available. This way, when the CV joints go bad, people have to go to dealer or get rid of the car. Well, in the mean time, the Chinese entered the market! Good or bad, you guys decide.

Interestingly, you you do a google search for GKN 302148, you will see websites from Hungary, Lithuania selling it!

Your suspicions are ridiculous. Anyway you can buy a new OEM Volvo axle which have of course GKN/Lobro joints for around $325 which sucks, but they are available.

I understand my conspiracy theory is crazy, but why does GKN-Lobro makes the CV Joints available for VW, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche but not Volvo.

And why only Eastern European market has access to GKN CV Joint, but not the US?

Maybe it has to do with customs charges and tariffs? I think the U.S. has some very strict rules on importing parts with bearings to help protect the industry. That doesn't explain why those parts are available for some other manufacturers though.

I just did a quick google search on GKN 302148, tons of lists came up.
Mostly in Europe.

This seller in Greece sells it for 117 Euros...
