1999 volvo v70 purge valve

I am looking at 3 hoses coming off the purge valve. I see one goes to the Canister and and the other goes to the engine but was wondering where the skinny one goes, because it is just hanging there. If you have a 1999 volvo V70, would you please look at the purge valve which is attached to the top of radiator on the driver side and see where ends up.

I believe one end goes into a tree, but I am not 100% positive. I will check tomorrow for you if you haven't yet found an answer. Otherwise, you'll get more help with your 1999 V70 in the 850, S70, V70, C70 1993-2000 section.
