Also check your IC hoses and replace them. Ideally, they should probably be changed if they're still the originals. Remember that leaks can be hard to see/feel, so pressure check them if you can. If any of your vacuum or IC hoses are mushy, or bulging anywhere near clamps and stuff, change them.
All right, will do this. I hope there is an overview over all the IC tubes somewhere around.

Yes, I'll. I just worry about the 10 days the DMV gives you to register after you bought the vehicle. The last mechanic told me not to worry about but born in Germany so I take timings serious ;) Yeah the glove test says its time to change the PCV. Is it still ok to drive around at least to the auto shops and DMV if needed?

In your case, I would be surprised if your can get the car to tell you anything of any use through the OBD II w/o Volvo's own equipment, so stick with the under hood boxes. :)
All right. Saves me maybe a couple of bucks to get a cheap OBD2 reader from an auto shop. I'll check the codes today.

Al right, I checked the codes (via OBD2).There are 7 for now:

P0102
P0117
P0171
P0172
P0326
P0400
P0422

Well, seems like a lot of work!

Erase the codes and see which one will come back.It will be a problem since you can't drive it untill it's been tested.
Some of them can be related. That said, when you replace ect, Maf code, cat code, rich and lean codes can disappear.

Do I have actually drive around with the car or is it enough to just start it Andre through divergent positions (P,R,N,D..)?

You need to drive it since the ecu is gathering informations from various sensors while driving in diferent conditions.
If some of those sensors are completelly dead, you will get check engine light for it as soon as you start it.

Ok, I deleted the old codes and drove around. Two codes came back:

P0117
P0326

That's 5 less as in the beginning. Yeah!

P0117 is ECT code and p0326 is knock sensor voltage.Bad news are that knock sensor is under intake manifold and it needs to be removed in order to access it.
ECT sensor....check both of connectors.Could be just a bad connection or corroded connection.Check them both...ect side and engine side.If there is nothing wrong with connectors,it's dead.Bad news also because these cars only work with oem volvo ect sensor which is made by Valeo and it's around 50-60$.Vernet is your ONLY aftermarket option and should be double cheaper than oem and works excellent.

Also....there is possibillity that ect sensor replacement (or connector cleaning)can fix p0326 code.

Hi Misha,

Thanks for that. Yes, I think the ECT sensor is bad. After I bought the car I could see that someone disconnected the radiator. After I reconnected the radiator it was running immediately on high power without stopping (means the sensor delivers the wrong signal and the radiator runs high as a precaution).

I'll clean and check the connections and if nothing helps I'll get another sensor tmw. Hopefully P0326 also stops showing up.

Any hints where I can find the Vernet sensor?

That knock sensor code will go away once you fix the lean running and ECT problem. Ignore it for now.
