Expensive fix, at least $1500 at a good shop. For the people here who do a DIY head gasket job, it ends up being about $600+ to do it right, that's doing all the work yourself except some tasks that are best done by dropping off the head at a machine shop.

Next time when you buy a used car, take it to a mechanic of your choice to be checked BEFORE buying it. It'll be the best $50-$80 you'll ever spent on a car.

If you plan on fixing it, you better read up and DIY...
Otherwise, sell it as a parts car or to be fixed. Don't bring it to a pull a part or something... it always kills me to see perfectly good repairable cars there.

Bummer.

It's disheartening to hear of an innocent buyer being taken advantage of. Purchasing a used car is definitely "Buyer beware."

OK, so its fixed!! Love my dad. Turned out to be a different gasket, compression test tuned out good , all at 170-&180 . so he took it, brought it back fixed. Cost less than $150. Woohoo!!
But, next problem.. Haha.. My floorboard is wet. Been that way since I bought it (12/29/15), but my heater works, no overheating, and I'm not loosing any water.. ?? So I'm a little confused.. Any suggestions?
