2000 v70 ABS control module

The saga continues:

I followed everybody's advice from a previous post, and replaced the ABS control module. The symptoms I was getting were flashing shift light, check ABS light, trac. control light, then the speedometer started to not work periodically. Now that it is replaced, the check engine light is on and the up-arrow is still flashing. Any ideas?

You need to read codes and post them back here - format P1234.

This morning, one of my employees told me Autozone no longer will read codes for you here in NY? I can't believe this makes sense but heard it from reliable source. Maybe our local store got tired of people driving off with their code reader.

Read the code and clear the code. See if that clears up the arrow. See if code comes back. I think on a 96 I had I had to erase the code after I installed a replacement module from Matty. The code was a tranny code and erasing the code squared everything away.

You let the old module go too far where it triggered tcu and ecu codes. The tcu won't report back to the ecu saying that everything is fine so you have to clear them with a scanner.

Heading out to Autozone this week to borrow scanner tool. Here in the "Happy Valley" of Western Mass they still lend or let you use them. Thanks

I'm not sure that theirs will access the tcu.

I'm a long hour west if you run out of luck with AZ or the TCU, but with one of the kids ar Smith I'm often by your area.

I think my 801 will deal with the TCU but I have MTCU on my cars

Let me know is you'll be in Northampton and I'll meet you out there if you don't mind. Autozone has an obd2 sensor that they will run on my car, but they didn't know anything about a TCU. I would be interested in buying the scanner if its reasonably priced. I would like to learn how to reset the codes. I'm pretty sure that the code is from transmission since the tranny did all kinds of weird stuff when the module was bad. I also was using gears 1,2,3 etc. when the car wouldn't shift on its own and it would make a loud noise when I changed the gears at times. Anyway thanks and please let me know.

If I disconnect the battery for a little while ( I do have my radio code), will it erase the codes and stop the check engine light and the flashing shift arrow?
