I have been trying to replace my MAP sensor on my 2000 V70 XC which sits in a hole on the intercooler pipe and is held in place by two plastic clips. No matter how hard I try to push it into place , I can't get it to seat. Is there a trick to this?
Also, if I can't get it to fit, can I just tape the hole in the intercooler pipe until I can drive to a mechanic? Thanks in advance.

are the ears on the clip seat still there or are they broken off? If they are missing, there is nothing to hold it in place.

Thanks for the response. Actually the ears were the problem...not because they were missing, but because they were grabbing the sensor too hard. I lightly filed a little angle on the base of the sensor where the ears would grab and it popped right in.

It's critical on the ME7 cars as it measures actual intake air pressure. If it doesn't seat right your car won't run.
