Greetings MVS users,
This spring I'm rebuilding the tired b5254t in my '98 v70 and I'm trying to pinpoint what parts and components I can use from newer models that may be improved since my motor was built at the factory.
I've spent all morning researching other's sagas and confusion of different versions of this engine, and what works/doesn't (connecting rod length woes, NA cams, convincing VVT to work, etc). Even after all of that reading, I'm not sure how much applies to me since most of those threads refer to 99 and 00 models. I'm fortunate to have the mechanical throttle and distributor, but it also makes it more difficult to find parts (or better info on parts)
My hope in this thread is that I can condense all of this information into one post for my specific year/model of car.
I'm all about the 16t turbo/white injectors/T5 ECU, as I already have them. What else should I consider along the way? I'm not building for high boost performance, just a daily driver that pulls when I need to pass or get onto the interstate.
My engine's S/N is 1085661 if that helps.
Thanks for your advice/foresight!
It's 2016 and I'm rebuilding a B5254T from a '98 v70: what combination of parts would be best?
