How are the caliper sliding pins? Moving freely?

When placing new pads it's better to open the bleeder before pushing the piston back so as not to affect some valves in the braking system.

Cheap rotors will bend easily if the wheel lugs are not perfectly even torqued.

Did you brushed the surface of the hub with steel brush and sand paper to remove ALL rust from it before you installed new rotors?
Did you greased sliding pins?

No, didn't clean all the parts but everything looked not to dirty and the rotor fitted proper on the mount. Will work on this when I'm back in LA. I'm out of town at the moment in good old Germany :)

The sliding pins should move very easily inside the rubber boot. Personally, after researching on the subject, I would advise against greasing them. Volvo also mentions no lubrication - at least on later models. The only acceptable grease is a silicone grease, but there are several brands people reported to have had issues with them. I too used a synthetic silicone grease which was getting too thick in cold temperatures.

Ok, I'm back in town.

I installed new brake pads (Wagner ThermoQuite) but still have the same issue. So the search continuous. Next step is replacing the rotor and check if this is the faulty part.

Does the steering wheel shake as well? If it doesn't, then the vibration might be coming from the rear wheels/brakes

All right. After dissesambling the front right brake around 10 times I can now solve the mystery. It was the right REAR brake. The pads there where completly worn which caused all the noise and vibrations. Took me so long to figure that out cause all the trouble started right after I replaced the front rotors and pads so I was sure it is the front brake. But after I replacing the brake line yesterday (the last part which could cause the trouble) it came suddenly to my mind to check the rear brakes. :D

Well, what should I say. After another hour changing the pads (rotors look still good) everything just works fine. What a relieve :D

Seems like I can do brakes now in total darkness. What a learning.

Thanks to everybody who was helping here.

Glad you got there eventually and perhaps if we were more clear on diagnosis process as orangex states above. Steering wheel vibration =front end,
seat of your pants vibration = rear end (car and yours!).

Happy motoring!
