From the factory (or if you buy a Volvo WP) the bolts come coated with RTV. I don't think I would use threadlocker on WP bolts, but it's blue you should be OK if you ever need to go back in there.

I'm curious about cooling system recommendations too, on my P80s I have only flushed it with distilled water until it runs clean, then add enough full strength coolant to reach 50% strength.

I use plumber's thread tape on the bolts if I'm reusing them. It's just a precaution as some of the bolts pass back out of the outer side of the block.

Re: Cooling system flush. My indy uses BG. The sled needs a good coolant flush. First I'll have to see how much it costs. I was a regular user of BG-44K until it went North of $22/can.

BTW, it's all back together. No leaks! My first TB was a success, not a beginner disaster! Just got home with groceries. So glad that's over...I'm beat.

Flush with regular tap water. I run water out the bottom of the radiator, and , at idle, pump water into the open reservoir with a hose in overflow mode. I never leave this unattended, and flush for 15 minutes. Perfect For quick finance conference.

You can refill with distilled or tap if your tap water isn't too hard. I did the calculation once and found even very hard tap water would use at most 1% capacity of the scavenging capacity in the coolant.

Just finished up with the lower rad. & inlet turbo coolant hoses last night. Wrote it up in my other thread on the WP. All was leak-free this morning. Very pleased to have all of this work behind me in the rear-view mirror. Decided to postpone the flush for now as the coolant is fresh, clear and I saw very little if any build-up on any of the metal pipes and inner hoses.
