Help - Stuck on Head removal...

Post by Lucasszy »

I've gotten the engine stripped down to just the top and lower head, but now I cant figure out how to remove all the injectors from the engine. They seem to be stuck in the rail, and in the block.

Any howtos on this would be greatly appreciated, or general help.

My car is a 98 v90.

thanks in advance

Lucas

1. Remove the fuel rail mounting screws.
2. Lift up the fuel rail with the injectors.
3. Remove the screws holding the mounting rail to the fuel rail.
4. Remove any injectors to be replaced.

Thanks for that... Now for a few more questions if possible:

1. How to I get the final intake manifold screws out that are on the underside of the intake?

2. OOOOPS, I broke something.... There is a cover at the back of the valve cover on the exhaust cam. It attaches to the block head and valve cover, and I broke of one of the tabs on the top. Where can I find a replacement?

thanks in advance,

Lucas

The intake manifold is in two parts, outer and inner.

After removing all of the bits that are hanging on the outer part - MAF sensor, idle air control valve, flame trap, fuel rail, 2 ignition discharge switches, pre-heat inlet hose plus goodness knows how many other bits - remove the lower intake manifold mounting, the two vacuum hoses and the brake servo vacuum hose. Now separate the manifold by cutting the disposable rubber hose clamps (12) which are in the intake mating flange. Withdraw and raise the intake manifold (outer).

Remove the inner section of the manifold by taking out the upper screws and slackening the lower screws.

As for the 'OOOOPS'...... I can't work out what you have broken. Maybe you can give a better description.
