Hi,
Has anyone had an issue where there is a delay from when the cruise control switch is pressed until when it is engaged and maintaining the set speed? I noticed that it drops about 10mph or so before coming back up to speed when initially set. Also, I think this only occurs at the beginning, thus I did not notice any issues when needing to reset due to braking etc. Please let me know if anyone knows what could be causing this and a possible fix.
Thank you.

I'm curious about this too. Even after replacing the cruise control vacuum line, I still have this issue, exactly as you described it.

I have this issue too. I usually just hold the button for a second and then I feel it activate. No idea how to improve it.

Same problem. It's been like this forever on both ma 850ies. I have a feeling this is the way it is due to its design.

Normal. The vacuum used by the CC has its own pump and it takes a little bit to get enough vacuum to pull the throttle.
Suggestion: when initially setting the speed, hold the button down until you feel the pedal drop from your right foot. It take 3-5 seconds.

I agree, this sounds pretty normal. The cruise is slow to engage, you have to wait for it. It is possible there are some old failing pumps that are even slower than normal, you could try another pump from the junkyard, but for sure there is a lag anyway.

This is what I do too. I think it's an endearing feature of the vacuum-based P80. It marks the transition out of my neighborhood and onto the highway in morning.
