Lost part of the door stop

Hello.

I was removing the door stop from the passenger door as it was clunking badly when being opened. I noticed that the weld in the pillar gave up and was loose and would need to be welded back on again. Thing is though I accidentally knocked it off and now it's somewhere inside the car... check the pic to see what I mean. Does anyone know what I need to remove to get access inside there?

Yes, you need to remove the trim panel to access the inside.
Then weld a new piece of metal to hold the new "door brake" in place.

This happens when you park the car "nose down" on a slope, then a strong wind blows the door as you enter the car, ripping the part that holds the door brake.
