Re: 1999 S80-T6 Removing Alternator
UPDATE: Got the tensioner belt (Serpentine) off. It was a 14mm head just to right of EMS box. I removed top of plastic box, more working room. Used the longest 14mm box wrench. Have the PS pump out of way, top bolt on alternator loose. How do you get to the two lower bolts mounting the alternator to the engine? Just go in blind (12 mm I think, maybe 13),?

Remove the top two bolts that go through compressor and loosen the lower two a lot.
Loosen the power steering line on pump so it allows hose to move. You'll need some wiggle room with hose. I just finished re-assembling my T6 job and I pulled alternator while I was in there to inspect. I had to pull it to get access to bolts holding accessory bracket on engine . One of the bolts for the crankcase breather box is behind the bracket (Bad Volvo engineer, no fika for you for a month).

Im hoping one of the two or anyone else who's already done this can reply.
How the hell did you get the 17mm bolt out.
I have every last part off and Im about ready to cut the damn clips instead of going after that bolt. But I know in the long run cutting the clips makes my life harder so I won't. Unless I drunk abit much and say f it.
I'm guessing a 17mm wrench with a 90° on the end? Seems about the only way. Sigh 3rd trip for tools? Probably.
