Advice needed for chipped paint

Hello All,

In my most recent trip out to Chicago, I had a rather unpleasant experience. While passing a semi, one of the tires facing my car had a blow out.. Beyond the near diamond that appeared in my pants from the loud bang, I was greeted with a spot of chipped paint on the passenger side of my 850. I'm curious to know if anyone knows if this particular piece around the window is easily removable for repainting? I can tape it off and repaint if needed, but I would much prefer to be able to remove this piece and paint in my garage. Does anyone know if this piece of trim is easily removable?

I'm sorry I dont have a solution but if you find somewhere to get the Volvo paint from I would love to know! My 850 is unbelievably sun beaten and I need to paint pretty much the whole thing

Hey Pezgoon,

I actually have some paint on hand. I used it when I deleted the headlight wipers, and thought they turned out pretty good. I bought the primer and paint from http://www.automotivetouchup.com/paint-codes/volvo.htm

Do you have a junkyard nearby where you can try to remove that piece on a dead car?

Wow, that site is terrific! Thanks for sharing. I've been trying to find paint for my V70 for some time. IPD is the only site I've seen that carries Volvo paint codes, but they've been out of stock of the one I need.

Just placed my order. Fantastic resource.

If you run out of options, I have a half used can of official Volvo Emerald Green paint (seems that's the color here- may be wrong)...I'll send it to you for the price of shipping. I'd tape off everything and clean and spray it, let it dry and do it again- maybe 2 or three then possibly put on a top cote of clear cote. I used it to paint a bumper several years ago on my S70.
