1998 S70 2.4T engine swap into NA

Post by kellbyrne »

I have a 1998 S70 2.4T engine that I want to swap into my 1998 S70 2.4 non turbo car... my question is this...besides all the hardware swaps (engine, transmission, radiator, exhaust, inner cooler) would the computer harness have to change?? OR would the Turbo ECU and transmission computer be able to just plugin... again this is a 98.
Thank you!!! :D

The entire engine wiring harness would have to be swapped, along with the ECU/TCU.

This swap has been discussed many times, and the overwhelming sentiment is that it is not worth it. Much cheaper and much easier to find a turbo car all ready to go, or one that can accept your ready-to-go turbo engine. That 2.4 LPT engine and accompanying ECU will drop right in to any 94-98 turbo 850 or S/V/C70. You're actually better off dropping it into a T5 (HPT) car, and keeping the HPT ECU, but I digress.
