Interesting. I may look for bad solder joints, but doubt if I will switch out the capacitors. Anyhow, the main reason I am responding. My 1994 850 has T-20 Torx screws, not T-25!

O'Reilly and one other place I looked had the completely wrong relay listed in their catalog and online. Not even close, even had round prongs instead of flat.

Advance always has the master fuel system relay listed as the fuel pump relay. Like you said, its not even close.

Was troubleshooting a no fuel condition on my '00 V70R and after playing with DICE/VIDA it indicated the fuel pump relay was functioning (intermittently I guess) so I thought the fuel pump was bad - have to drop the entire rear sub-frame/suspension and tank (major labor $$$) to replace it. Not only that, it has a 2-part system, one is a fuel pump and the other a fuel ejector at a cost of $330 and $376 respectively.

So this morning I decided to make sure and jumpered pin 15 & 87 and sure enough - got the car started. Turns out the fuel relay was bad and I was able to pick one up at the junk yard for a whopping $2.49!

Thanks so much for this thread as I was able to avoid a tow, mechanics troubleshooting, and perhaps getting ripped off on spending thousands on a fuel pump replacement!
