If you had a BMW it would be a telephone pole and the top end goes in first

Can you elaborate? The search function ignores everything less than 4 letters long, which is a PAIN IN THE POSTERIOR when looking for module acronyms in posts, as most have 3-letter acronyms.
1982 240DL: Drove it 32 years and 1.5 million miles (sold, even still had mint leather!)
2001 v70 2.4T: The most expensive $1500 car I ever bought ("Volvo Turbo" - what an oxymoron!) (sold)
2004 v70: Far less fatally-flawed v70 - It served well (sold)
2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!

The P2 platform, 1999 on, uses a CANBUS interface for communication between control modules rather than analog voltages.

They are much more reliable but you have to have VIDA to troubleshoot.

There should be no service messages on a prospect car or take it to a Volvo specialist and have it scanned to get the news.

This is a decade-old legacy setting that isn't a restriction on you, the searcher, but rather on what is indexed. With 400k+ posts, frankly I'm afraid to re-index MVS Forum search to get 3-character words into the index. It'll take an enormous amount of processing (time), and the forum will almost certainly go down while this takes place. It's just the thing that could be 1 minute or 40 minutes. I'll do some research about this and put it on the to do list.

Did you try MVS-Google search? It's in the upper right of every page on this site.

AWD in a Volvo scares me.

I rather have a FWD with LSD installed instead.
