Hi,
I'm pretty new to do-it-yourself car repairs, so I'm looking for help.
Recently I had my '83 Volvo 244 checked out by a mechanic because of engine sputtering, loss of power and finally all the warning lights started to flicker. The shop suggested the mass air flow meter needed replacing, but said they couldn't diagnos anything beyond that until the MAF meter was replaced.
I did this myself. The car ran perfectly for a few days, then started to have the same problems... the engine sputters along, losses power, warning lights flashing, regains power, almost as if it is starved for fuel. However, the power loss is not as great.
Thoughts?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
