Hi,

What is wrong with this thread?

A. Cant see the video.
B. Cant see the 'image' in the second post.

I fixed the image. Video appears fine for me.

On nice. Thanks for fixing the image.
Where did you put those little things and how thick are they each?

When i open the page all i see is a grey square where the video should be. It used to say "plugin required".
What kind of plugin?

Probably Adobe Flash Player. I put them on the fan shroud where the original rubber piece hits. Thickness about .25 inches or a little less.

Hello Robert,

Oh yes, i think i found it. Is that the one with the little square things mounted to the plastic part in the front?
If so then i found it. Great idea, i am going to have to try that for sure. My hood has been a problem since day 1.

I also see some rubber "hood bumpers" for sale at auto parts stores. I wonder if they would work too. Not pricey at all less than $5 USD.

Thanks for that--I thought I was the only one pulling the darned release twice, and having to get out of the car in between pulls to yank the hood a little.

Interesting that it worked better on the 850--probably FOMOCO cost cutting!

I did something very similar. I used stacked thin fender washers and a couple of bolts with self locking nuts. Fender washers are thin so you can get the right thickness by stacking them. Pick the diameterto match the rubber bumpers on the hood. Its a super easy repair and a lot of improvement for nearly no effort or cost. You can easily locate the place to install them by looking for the imprints on the plastic shroud. If there's no imprint take some lipstick and rub a generous amount on the rubber bumpers on the hood. Close the hood. Open the hood. Now you have an imprint. My repair cost me about 10 bucks because I was overzealous and used stainless hardware. They are shiny though and I like the way the look when I pop the hood.
